Incident Response

In any life-critical situation—whether it’s a first aid emergency or an intruder posing a threat—speed is everything. Staff need to know what’s happening immediately, and they need clear information so they can act fast.

When setting up Marshal Eye for the first time, navigate to the Incidents tile on the desktop browser to configure your pick list of scenario types. When staff initiate an incident, the sweep zones you’ve set up for evacuation will automatically be presented, allowing you to quickly specify exactly where the critical event is taking place.

Suggested Critical Incidents Types

  • First Aider Required
  • Intruder Alert
  • Missing Child
  • Assistance needed
  • Staff being threatened
  • Flooding Alert
  • Gas Leak

How to start a Critical Incident

If you need a first aider, or if any other situation arises that requires instant alerts across your team and communication channels, simply hit Start Incident, then:

1. Choose the type of incident

2. Select the location

3. Hit Submit

That’s it — your team is instantly notified.

Speed counts

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCAs) are particularly concerning. Each year, there are more than 30,000 OHCAs across the UK, with survival rates remaining alarmingly low. Despite resuscitation attempts by ambulance services, fewer than 1 in 10 individuals survive to hospital discharge, getting a first aider on scene with access to an AED could make all the difference.

Under the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, employers are required to provide adequate and appropriate first aid equipment, facilities, and personnel to ensure employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. The exact number of first aiders needed depends on the size, nature, and risk level of the workplace, but having trained first aiders readily available is a legal duty.
