The IOSH Merseyside branch is widely regarded as one of the most well-run and well-supported branches in the UK, with a strong base of committed members. Steve Wilcock has previously contributed as a guest speaker on two occasions, delivering impactful talks on Grenfell and Human Behaviour in Fire.
In December, Steve was invited back to speak as part of IOSH Merseyside’s monthly webinar series. Following this, he was honoured to be invited to showcase the Marshal Eye platform at their prestigious annual seminar.
The event was a resounding success. Steve brought a suite of phones and tablets, enabling delegates to see the app in full operational mode. The demonstration sparked new connections and engaging discussions around the platform’s forthcoming software updates, as well as its potential applications across various industries.
It was also an opportunity to highlight the fire training provision at North West Fire Training Ltd
Steve also holds a personal connection to Liverpool, his father was awarded the Margaret Bryce Smith Scholarship to attend the Liverpool Institute in 1955. During his time there, he studied alongside notable names such as Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and news broadcaster Peter Sissons.
Steve spent some time at the memorial for the 97 killed at the tragic Hillsborough disaster, he remembers the story breaking two weeks after he joined the Royal Navy 36 years ago.
